25 Random Things About Us

(I would have loved to post some pictures up but my hard disk kaputed/zonked/totallycrashed so i lost all my pictures :( so it'll be a wordy post, consider this a warning!)

1. We had to LDR it for a year. Yes it's true, what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger.
   
   
2. We always hold hands to sleep. Always always. Sometimes G, in the middle of his sleep, pats his hand around until it finds mine. So cute.
   
   
3. G gives God-like massages. Whenever he gives me one i'll always moan, 'baby this is the only reason why i'll marry you' hahahaha.
   
   
4. We never swear at each other. Not even when we're flaming mad. G had never used the f word in front of me. And that's 8 years and counting :p
   
   
5. We love giving each other handmade presents! eg, hand drawn story book, origami lilies, cross-stitched bookmark etc
   
   
6. The first line G said to me through ICQ, in our very first chat, even before saying hi, was... "It's a phoenix."
   Lol. This was because on that day our art project was to do something 3D and i cut out the shape of a phoenix using black mounting cardboard and carefully glued layers of red sequins on top. I carried it around the class and no one could guess what it was!! Then G came from the neighbour class and said that very line when i asked him :) So smart baby *adore
   
   
7. We don't celebrate monthly anniversaries. Only yearly ones. However, we do race to wish each other first because we're competitive like that hahahahaha. We stopped counting points because i... hmm how do i put this in the most polite yet accurate of terms... thrashed the shit out of G's ass. HAHAHAHA.
   
   
8. G and I are major geeks. At one point our ideal date is to sit in any mamak doing crossword puzzles together. Ahh good memories hehee
   
   
9. When we were 17 my class (commerce) had an art exhibition day tour. G and a couple of his friends from the science classes sneaked out and joined us. Later when i met him in the gallery, he asked me which was my favourite picture of the exhibition. I told him it was the one by the door, a picture of a road stretching out into the skyline. Later when everyone had to assemble by the bus, he came up to me with a bag. Inside was the exhibition's official book with the whole collection of pictures in it. He said since he couldn't buy me the picture itself, at least he could get me the one in the book.
   
   
10. G and I got really close partly because both our sisters are good friends. When they met up, we met up too. We used to hang out a lot in the playground near his house.
    
    
11. There is one thing that exists in abundance in our relationship - laughter. We honestly laugh with/at each other soooo much! And it's the breathless, wheezing, rolling-on-the-floor-clutching-your-stomach kinda laughter.
    
    
12. We both can't sing to save a monkey's ass. We're not even being shy or polite. We are frickin out of tune 98% of the time. So we sing to each other to console ourselves damn sad hahahaha.
    
    
13. We are a cheesy couple. We got together on valentine's day yeahyeah eye rolling. This was because i seriously object to the social norm question of 'can you be my gf please?' so i told him we can make it official by going on our first date on vday. G likes it because it saves him money.
    
    
14. Whenver we're walking by the road G always switches sides with me just as long as he's the one closer to the road (read : cars/mad drivers).
    
    
15. Just to reemphasise how geeky we are, we were once addicted to Guardian's Killer Sudoku. It's good stuff! Check it out here.

16. Do I need to mention we both have uber big egos? If we don't why does this blog exist?
    
    
17. Our favourite boardgame? Do you still need to ask? Monopoly! It's all about the cash, baby. The cash.
    
    
18. G on weddings :
    
    He doesn't believe in buying wedding dresses. Dresses, he said, should be rented.
    He doesn't believe in dancing. He doesn't believe in karaokeing. He thinks we should just 'yam seng'.
    He thinks wearing his everyday working suit is fine.
    He thinks wedding cakes should be fake from the 2nd tier onwards.
    
    I believe everything otherwise. And he will never switch to my wedding camp :(
    
    
19. In the kitchen - i cook, he washes. It's practically in our constitution haha.
    
    
20. Once G was teaching me hokkien so i can speak to his parents, and i asked him how do i refer to him in hokkien.
    
    He cheekily replied 'You can call me 'ang' (husband) and i can call you 'bo' (wife)!'
    -___- I told him 'yeah i'll call you 'TE ANG' (te= pig)!'
    Within a second he retorted, 'I'll call you wild bo! (wild boar)'

21. We both love travelling. And to tie it up sweetly, we share the same travelling style :)
    
    
22. G hates shopping with his sister and mum but he doesn't mind it with me as long as i don't neglect him and hold his hand :) Yesterday we shopped from 11am - 10pm. No squabble! Yay!
    
    
23. G once said he'll give me 10 points if i can name all his 5 siblings' names and i failed :( :(
    
    
24. I'm always, always the first to wake up in the morning. But he prefers sleeping on the outer part of the bed. So to get up i have to climb over him *miffed
    
    
    
25. We are not going to have 4 kids and 2 dogs in the future.
