Shy of celebrating our 6th year anniversary, Gary and I decided to do something normal couples do - watch a movie.
I think 'watching movie' is part of a new couple how-to-date formula - dinner date, movie, goodnight kiss.
Needless to say, we haven't done that in a while. Let me provide you with a fantastic example. Here's the list of movies Gary and I last watched together:
- Water for Elephants
- Transformers (third one)
- Inception
- The Dark Knight
- Avatar
- Nine (didn't finish)
- Up (didn't finish)
I have this terrible fear of watching movies ever since Water for Elephants. I had a mini panic attack because I could PHYSICALLY FEEL my time being WASTED watching that shitass movie (drama mama mode: on).
So when we were queuing for tickets I kept telling Gary 'does queuing for tickets count as dating?' and 'if they don't have tickets it's still considered attempting to watch a movie like a normal couple right?' as my eyes desperately read: GET ME OUT OF HERE.
But eventually we got the tickets (to be honest I did try to bail out but Tong Pak Fu was closed so we had to requeue to get the tickets heh).
I'm not going to even bother describing what I think about the movie except for this:
(the next day)
Gary's friend: So how was Safe House last night?
Me: #pokerface.jpg
Me: ...
Gary's friend: Never mind, I got it
Nevertheless, here's our bet on how this movie scored on these three websites:
(closest wins)
Gary / Me / Official Rating
ROTTEN TOMATOES: 50 / 54 / 53
METACRITIC : 50/48 / 52
IMDB : 5.0 / 4.6 / 7.1
IMDB, 7.1. Seriously? You must consist of Ryan Reynold fangirls.
Score:
Gary: 10
Me: 0
(starting afresh)
